Horn Lake Fire Department is proud to serve the citizens with around the clock protection for fire and medical emergencies, operating from three fire stations that house thirty-seven full-time fire department personnel and seven full-time and eleven part-time EMS personnel. Station One is located on Tulane, one block south of City Hall. Station One houses Rescue 1 and Medic 1, which responds to the west side of Hurt Rd. to Horn Lake Rd. Station Three is temporarily located in the back of Horn Lake Parks & Recreation and EMA office on Hwy 301 north of Goodman Rd. It houses Engine Three which responds from Horn Lake Rd. west to Hwy 301. Station Two is located on Hwy 51, between Nail Road and Church Road and houses Engine Two, Truck One, Medic Eleven and our administrative staff. Engine Two responds from Hurt Rd. east to I-55. Among the different aspects of fire service many of our current thirty-seven fire personnel are specially trained to handle are water rescue, high angle rescue, rapid intervention rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, structural collapse rescue and hazardous materials. Mark Brown, Fire Inspector for Horn Lake Fire Department, handles fire investigation duties and building inspections for fire code safety. We are proud to have members that hold some of the highest certifications the Mississippi Fire Academy has to offer. The protection of our citizens and their property is our highest priority. Full-time emergency medical technicians and paramedics are relied on to staff the two ambulances that serve the city. Our EMTs and paramedics are also trained in various specialties of their field. We have in-house CPR instruction, basic trauma life support technicians, advanced cardiac life support technicians and personnel trained in pediatric advanced life support. Our emergency medical staff works hand-in-hand with fire personnel to render life-saving care during rescue operations. Training of EMS personnel is a large focus for our department. As we grow, we seek better ways to meet the needs of our citizens with professional patient care. Horn Lake is growing and so is our fire department. We are always in search of entry level paramedics and EMT/EMS drivers. We are currently accepting applications for entry-level firefighters.
