Berne Township Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects 4969 people living in an area of 43 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
Our trucks include 2 squads, 1 heavy rescue, 2 engines, 1 tanker, 2 grass trucks, and 1 Polaris Ranger. Besides taking runs our department also participates in the annual 4th of July celebrations, and holds a annual Fish Fry every fall.
Nestled at the gateway to the beautiful Hocking Hills, our fire department serves both the rural population and visiting tourist travelling our highways. Our department is all volunteer since it's developement in 1932.
