Lake Nacogdoches Area Volunteer Fire Department proudly protects approximatley 2500 people living in an area of 85 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status. This is a small, all volunteer department that covers the southwest part of Nacogdoches County, Texas. Our area consists of mostly agricultural land (pastures and forest) with several subdivisions and mobile home parks. We depend almost entirely on donations for money, as we receive only $4250.00 per year from Nacogdoches County. In addition, we are a part of the new Nacogdoches County Emergency Service District # 4. ESD # 4 includes our department as well as South Nacogdoches County VFD and Loco Valley VFD. Between all of the departments, there are 4 stations, 4 Engines, 4 Tankers and 5 Grass/Brush trucks. We currently have two Level II Instructors and five Level I Instructors. We also have 1 Intermediate and 9 Basic State, plus 4 Introductory Certified Firefighters. We also have 1 Intermediate EMT and 4 Basic EMT's that serve as First Responders to medical calls.
