Abbottstown Fire Company

Abbottstown Fire Company proudly protects 3500 people living in an area of 35 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Abbottstown Fire Company was founded in 1924. In 1929 the first motorized truck was purchased, a 1929 Ford/Hale Pumper that is still the pride and joy of many of our members. It is currently housed in a showroom facing Rt. 30 on the front of our building. Our department is located in Abbottstown (one of those small towns along Rt. 30 with the annoying traffic circles)but also provides first due protection for portions of three other municipalities. We are an all volunteer department with about 150 members, of which about 35 are active.
