Bolivar City Fire Department

The Bolivar City Fire Department is a combination fire department. We protect about a 7 square mile area including many highways. The city is contantly growing and will most likely add about 2 more square miles in the near future. We also have a university, and 2 technical colleges in our town. Our population as of 2000 was 9,143 but we are beleived to be around 12,000 now. We operate out of 2 stations with a 3rd in the works. Our ISO class is a 3, this has taken 4 years and 2 inspections to go from a class 6 to a class 3. Our apparatus includes the following: 1993 International/Precision Engine Company, 1999 International/Precision Engine Company, a 1986 Simon/LTI 100' Platform Truck Company, 2005 Ford/Equipment intensive Wildland Truck Company, 1972 Chevrolet Utility Truck Company, our reserve apparatus includes a 1967 Ford/ALF Engine Company, 1947 International Engine Company, and one parade truck 1940's model Dodge Engine.
