El Paso County Sheriff's Office Wildland Fire Suppression proudly protects 350000 people living in an area of 2160 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
We are a Type Two Wildland fire Hand Crew, staff one type V and one type VI engine. We provide forest, non-forest, and urban interface protection to the citizens of El Paso County , US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, CO State For est Service, Department of Defense(AF & Army), and National Park Service. We provide training in wildland fire fighting to local fire agencys(City, County, and Federal).
