NUREMBERG-WESTON VOLUNTEER FIRE COMPANY proudly protects 3500 people living in an area of 60 square miles. We operate out of one stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
THE NUREMBERG AND WESTON FIRE COMPANYS MERGED IN 1986 WHEN THE TWO COMPANYIES FELT IT WOULD BE BEST TO DOWN SIZE AND HAVE ONE FIRE COMPANY WITH THE SAME PEOPLE. BEING BOTH COMPANYS RAN JOINTLY ON ALL CALLS ANYWAY. THEY THEN LOCATED INTO A CENTRAL FIREHOUSE BETWEEN THE 2 TOWNS IN 1991 WHICH COST OVER $325,000 TO BUILD WHICH HOLDS 6 PIECES OF EQUIPMENT PLUS THE 2 NUREMBERG AMBULANCES.THE COMPANY COVERS NORTH UNION TWP.(SCHUYLKILL) AND IS THE PRIMARY FIRE DEPT IN BLACK CREEK TWP(LUZERNE COUNTY)
