Polo Fire Protection District proudly protects 5000 people living in an area of 144 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
With Chief Kim Wolber, Assistant Chiefs Tony Karrow and Jim Ports, two Captains, two Leiutenants and twenty Firefighters the Polo Fire Protection District is a highly motivated, aggressive Fire Protection District. We have been serving the City of Polo and the Townships of Brookville, Buffalo, Eagle Point, Grand Detour, Lincoln, Pine Creek and Woosung in Ogle County and also persons in Carroll, Lee and Whiteside counties with honor and pride for more than one hundred forty years, fifty of those as a Fire District. We offer public education classes on fire safety and will also speak to any local groups.
