The Morongo Fire Department proudly protects 2400 people living in an area of 98 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a largely rural area, with a growing commercial infrastructure. Our department is a public department whose members are on a paid status. Located 12 miles west of Palm Springs, CA within the Banning pass area and nestled between the San Jacinto and the San Gorgonio mountain ranges, the Morongo Fire Department responds to all types of emergencies. We are a full time, full service department protecting the Morongo Indian Reservation. We have a mutual/automatic aid agreement with the Riverside County Fire Department, and interact with CDF, USFS, USPS, BLM, BIA and local city jurisdictions. Our personnel are fully trained and certified in accordance with the Ca. State Fire Marshal and we are EMS ready with a minimum certification of EMT-1.
