In 1945 the fire department evolved into a cross-trained fire/emergency response service. Affiliation with the International Association of Fire Fighters was attained in 1946, making our union Local 880.We provide structural fire protection for both the city of Cloquet and the township of Perch Lake, a total of seventy-two square miles.
