Updated: Thursday, August 26, 2004 - 09:56:13 PM
The Mountain View Fire Protection District is a combination Paid/Volunteer Department that covers just over 250 square miles with seven (7) stations. We have 45 career personnel, over 100 volunteers and more than 30 reserves. Mountain View Fire is basically located in the rural areas outside of Longmont and Boulder. We started our own ALS transport service over 3½ years ago making us the first Department in Boulder and Weld Counties to provide ALS transport service. Our Fleet includes two (2)Career engines, three (3) Career Rescue/Ambulances with firefighting capabilities, and numerous engines, brush trucks and tankers that are staffed 24x7 with volunteers. The areas that we provide service to are Niwot, Erie, Mead, Dacono, Brownsville and Parts of Firestone. I-25 is the major Interstate running through our District. We cover one of the most dangerous sections of I-25, from Hwy 7 (mile marker 229) to just south of the Berthoud exit (mile marker 247). Come Visit us at: www.mountainviewfire.org for more info!
