Couchton Volunteer Fire/Rescue

Couchton Volunteer Fire/Rescue proudly protects 8000 people living in an area of 75 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

Est in 1972 as Couchton Fire Dept running out of the chief's carport (Bill Simmons ret. ) and out of Asst. Chief front yard ( Pope Cook ret. ) We have progressed to operateing two stations. One in Couchton Comm and our #2 Station in the Kitchens Mill Comm. We now are known as Couchton Volunteer Fire Rescue. We provide Fire protection, First Response Medical and Vehicle Extrication. We have Paramedic, EMT and First Responders on staff. 34 members include firefighters, cadets and aux. Some of our members are on the Aiken Co. Hazmat Team made up of members of other deparments, industry and privite citizens ( all volunteer ) ready to make response any agency needing help.
