Hannibal Rural Fire Protection District

Hannibal Rural Fire Protection Dist. proudly protects approx. 3000 people living in an area of 175 square miles. We operate out of 2 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Hannibal Rural Fire Protection Dist. was founded in 1986 to serve the rural area of the Hannibal School Dist. We operate out of 2 stations, with 2 pumpers, 2 tankers, and 2 brush vehicles,and 1 support vehicle. We are tax-funded by portions of both Marion and Ralls counties. We are an all volunteer dept. with 18 volunteers, of which 9 firefighters are First Responder certified, 4 firefighters are certified EMT's, 3 firefighters Paramedic certified, 2 firefighters are certified as Haz-Mat Technician, 1 firefighter is State Instructor certified,and 2 firefighters are State Investigator certified. Several of the firefighters attend the University of Missouri Fire & Rescue Training Institute, as well as several hours of in-house training per month, so that we may stay on the cutting edge of fire protection and prevention, plus emergency medical services.
