Cotton Volunteer Fire Dept

Cotton fire department was organized in June 1957 incorporated November of 1958. The personnel were all volunteer till the 90's when the first full time firefighter was hired, the work hours were 8-5. In 98 the numbers jumped up to five, 2 full time and three part time with the same 8-5 hours. 2001 the station started 24 hour shifts and had one full time and three part time firefighters. 2007 the numbers increased to two 24 hour and 4 part time that makes 6 firefighters per shift. Our shifts are A, B, and C one cycle is made up of a day on day off schedule for 6 days then a four day break that follows.
