Crossroads Fire Department proudly protects 6236 people living in an area of 78.5 square miles. We operate out of One stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
Crossroads Fire Department was established by concerned members of the community, with the help of East Bernstadt Fire Department, to better protect the citizens located here. It has been a labor of love. The community joined forces to raise funds to erect a building, and to equip firefighters with equipment to operate safely. East Bernstadt Fire Department had a piece of apparatus available for us to use, from there we began our journey. The battle has been rough at times, but we have overcome the obstacles placed before us. Within three years of the beginning of Crossroads Fire Department, we lost our chief, who gave his life saving property of others. We have continued on, and have grown from experience. The original building has been expanded, the fleet of apparatus has grown to include 3 pumpers, a utility vehicle and a tanker. We could never have continued without great leadership, a great community, and a close knit group of firefighters and their families.
