Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, Inc.

Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. proudly protects 1800 people living in an area of 12 square miles. We operate out of 1 station that protects a primarily residential area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.

The Northfield Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. was established in October of 1938 to provide fire protection for the village of Northfield in the town of Litchfield. In 1981 our Organization became Certified as an EMS First Responder for our district. We currently operate at the MRT-D and EMT-D level. The Company is staffed by 37 dedicated men and women in addition to a Junior Corp consisting of 7 young adults between the ages of 14 and 18. We are supported by the Northfield Fire Company Auxiliary with its 14 members. We are funded by the Town of Litchfield and our own fund raisers.
