We operate out of one stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a volunteer status.
The Alum Bank Fire Department has approximately 30 active members currently in the department. We raise most of our funding by holding Bingos, Banquet Hall rentals, Basket Dinners, Fire Police, Craft Show, Blue grass festivals, and our annual Antique and Classic Car, Motorcycle, and Tractor Show. Our Fire Company runs approximately 100 calls a year. Most of these calls are for vehicle accidents. We also run several structure fire calls and mutual aid calls. Over the past 3 years, we have placed 2 new(to us) pieces of apparatus in service. Because of this, we are pleased to announce that the two engines we took out of service have been sold. The 1972 Mack that we had was sold to the Delaware Fire Department in Delaware, Oklahoma. It has been a pleasure dealing with them. I hope all the extras we sent along with this piece will be put to good use. The 1980 MC Mack that we had for sale was purchased by the Washington Township Fire Department in Tippecanoe, Ohio. We would like to send a special thank you out to the members of the Rockville, Maryland and the Grafton, Wisconsin fire departments for their hospitality and helpfulness on our recent purchases with their departments. It has been a pleasure!!
