ATTALA COUNTY FIRE DEPT (Station 1) proudly protects 25500 people living in an area of 737 square miles. We operate out of 7 stations that protect a primarily rural area. Our department is a public department whose members are on a combination of paid and volunteer status.
Station 1 is a combination station made up of paid and vol. Stations 2 thru 7 are comprised of our valuable volunteers. There are aprox 75 vol. firefighters in the dept which make up the remainder of stations 2 through 7. Each of these run an engine and a tanker out of their station. We provide fire protection/provention, rescue(rope,dive,confined space,auto), and some HAZ-MAT.
