The Tipton Volunteer Fire Department, Antis Township, Blair County, PA was established in 1950. We are a rural department with a coverage area of about 63 Square miles. Interstate 99 runs through our area and accounts for the majority of our calls in the form of Motor Vehicle Accidents. We also have an industrial park with: New Pig Corporation (Manufacturer of absorbants and safety products), Lytles Moving and Storage, Balfords Industrial Laundry, and ORX (Manufacturer of railroad car trucks). The main attraction in our area is DelGrosso's Amusement Park. The main line of the Norfolk Southern Railroad divides our area in two. We have been told we have the busiest flat crossing in the county.
The village of Tipton consists of about 800 homes in what we feel is the prettiest part of central Pennsylvania.
