Spring Hope, NC, Nov. 22, 2017—Nash County firefighters attack a fast-moving fire in a large brick home, with fire through the roof. There were no hydrants in the area, so crews used four 1¾-inch lines and one 2½-inch line from a tanker that was shuttling water from a mile away. It took 40 firefighters 1½ hours to control the fire, as it was too dangerous to make an interior attack.

Enola, PA, Oct. 4, 2017—Firefighters from East Pennsboro Township prepare to knock down fire in an occupied wood-frame dwelling. Heavy fire was venting from the 1½-story dwelling upon arrival and quickly going to a second-alarm assignment. The fire was knocked down in about 10 minutes, and crews performed extensive overhaul operations, chasing hot spots in the void spaces. Approximately 40 firefighters from seven fire companies responded to the fire.

Corydon Township, PA, Oct. 22, 2017—Corydon Township Volunteer Fire Department firefighters battle a fully involved residential structure fire. A narrow bridge on the driveway prevented fire apparatus from reaching the residence. Firefighters hand laid a 5-inch supply line and a 3-inch attack line to the structure. A tanker shuttle was used to supply water for the fire attack. Firefighters remained on the scene for 10 hours.
