Brian Helmick has 21 years in the fire service with a wide variety of experiences. He currently serves as the fire chief with the East Contra Costa County Fire Protection District in Contra Costa County, CA, and previously served as the department’s training chief, prevention chief and operations chief. Helmick is also a fire department chaplain with the California and Federation of Fire Chaplains. He serves as chair of the Contra Costa County Public Safety Support Services Program.
