Chris Towski

Chris Towski is a fire lieutenant for the Cambridge, MA, Fire Department who has 28 years of service. His current position is with the Emergency Preparedness and Coordination Office. Towski spent 12 years with the Fire Prevention Office, where the primary duties were to enforce state laws and codes that are related to fire prevention and protection. He is certified in the fields of Emergency Medical Technician, Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer I and II, Fire Instructor I and II and Fire Incident Safety Officer. Towski has been his department’s electrical safety officer for 15 years. He instructs for the National Fire Protection Association with its Photovoltaic and Battery Energy Storage Systems Safety Training, among others. Towski is a technical committee member who represents the IAFF on NFPA 241: Standard for Safeguarding Construction, Alteration, and Demolition Operations. He is the Immediate Past President of the Fire Prevention Association of Massachusetts. Towski recently was appointed to the American Society of Mechanical Engineers A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators emergency operations committee.
