N.H. Crews Battle Three-Alarm Commercial Fire

Manchester Fire Chief James Burkush said firefighters searched the building and attempted to fight the flames from the inside, but that the call was soon made to initiate an exterior attack.

A three-alarm fire tore through a Manchester business Sunday night.

Crews responded to the fire at the Sahara International Supermarket at 750 Massabesic Street around 9:51 p.m. after a passerby spotted heavy smoke coming from the roof, according to The Union-Leader.

Fire Chief James Burkush told the newspaper that firefighters searched the building and attempted to fight the flames from the inside, but that the call was soon made to initiate an exterior attack.

Firefighters had the blaze extinguished by 10:45 p.m.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
