2001 American LaFrance Eagle Pumper
The Violetville Volunteer Fire Department Incorporated has recently placed in service a 2001 American LaFrance Eagle pumper. It features a 148"extended cab on a 194" wheelbase chassis with a 6 man cab. It is powered by a 500 horsepower Detroit 60 series diesel engine with a 5 speed Allison automatic transmission and disk anti skid brakes.
It is equipped with a Hale single stage 1250 GPM pump, a 750 gallon poly
tank, and a telescoping deck gun. The generator is an 8 kW unit which
powers five 750 watt quartz lights. This unit also carries 80 gallons of
AFFF fire fighting foam. It carries a complete supply of basic life
support equipment. The rescue compartment features a Holmatro
combination spreader/cutter tool and a Honda generator. Attack lines are
color coded with matching POK automatic nozzles, with a front bumper
drop out auto line.
The engine uses a Whelen strobe/LED warning system. The unit is designated engine 341.
