Detroit Fire Department Detroit, MI 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe Command Vehicles
The Detroit, MI Fire Dept has broken tradition with a radical change to their new selection of command vehicles. Detroit, which has previously used sedans for their Chief's, has purchased a fleet of 15 new 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe vehicles to be used by their front line command. Another first for the Detroit Fire Department is the graphics package that has been designed for these vehicles. Historically, DFD units have only been identified with the words "Detroit Fire Department" on the front door of the command car, and a white reflective stripe along the side.
The vehicles feature the following:
Federal Signal Vista strobe light bar, 100 watt siren and switch control.
Odyssey center console system
Odyssey rear mobile command system
Odyssey rear EMS command system in the EMS Supervisor vehicles
Sound Off Inc Predator LED emergency lighting system
Sound Off Inc corner strobe lighting & headlight flasher
Sound Off Inc secure locking system
Unity left hand spot light
Priority start battery saver system
These vehicles are being assigned to all 9 Battalion Chiefs, the Senior Chief and 4 as EMS Supervisors. (The 15th vehicle has no assignment title on it)
