The unit features a 23-foot walk through body and a 22-½ foot wheelbase, with an overall length of 39'8". Rescue 71 has seating for 16 firefighters, including driver and officer. A 60 Series Detroit Diesel engine producing 500 h.p. powers Rescue 71 and it reaches the tires through an Allison HD 4060 transmission.

This unit will feature Holmatro Rescue Tools ,dual Coleman A/C / Heating units on the box, various power tools, stay dry storage/dispenser system, 12 position David Clark system, high and low pressure air bag systems, confined space tripod system, 2- Will-Burt 9000 watt Night Scan light towers, 9- Fire Research 1500 watt scene lights. The unit also features Whelen Strobe units, as well as a Whelen model TA-837 traffic advisor light handle all emergency lighting.

It also includes: 21cfm @ 6000 psi American Bristol breathing air compressor/filtration system, 6000 psi cascade system with an American Bristol explosion proof filling station, 4- 6000 psi ASME bottles, 75 kw; 3 phase transfer case driven generator, 15 kw hydraulic driven amps generator, 12- Hanay reels (5 electric, 4 hydraulic, 3 air),

A Warn 12000# electric winch is located on front bumper; Rescue 71 also has a Warn 6000# portable winch which can be mounted on either side of the truck.

Rescue 71 features an Eagle carrying an American Flag design in memory of those lost in the September 11 attacks.
