Terryville Fire Department
Terryville, CT
2002 Pumper

unit image

This is our new Engine 4 that we received on January 25th of 2002. It is mounted on a Spartan Metro-Star chassis, six man, aluminum, four door cab with a 10" raised roof. It is powered by a Cummins ism-380, 380 -HP engine with an Allison MD-3066P speed world transmission.

The pump is a Waterous model CS, 1250 gpm single stage. It is fed by a UPF Poly IIE tank with a capacity of 1000 gallons. Rapid water transfer is accomplished with a "Newton Quick-Dump" electric dump valve. In the rear is a sleeve which includes storage of a Fold-A-Tank 1500 gallon portable pond.

The body is 12 gauge stainless steel with painted Dover roll-up doors. This engine was comissioned to replace our old Engine 4, a 1976 Ford with a 1000 gallon tank which is now stationed at our Headquarters as Engine 7, used primarily as a back up tanker.
