Pleasant Township Fire Department
Pleasantville, OH
1941 Ford Pumper with Hanley Pump

unit image

The Pleasant Twp. Fire Department recently had their 1941 Ford pumper restored.

The truck had been found in an overgrown field in Columbus, Ohio more than 15 years ago.

It was identified when a fellow firefighter noticed it sitting in a field and after a closer look noticed that the rear tire tread was backwards on the truck this was something the department used to do. The truck was recovered by the department and was placed in storage while money was saved to restore it. There were many attempts to find someone to restore it but all attempts failed until this year.

The members have already taken it to the Lancaster car show where they placed 2nd. Chief Jeff Mathias hopes to have it parades and special events throughout the year.
