2003 Ford F550 Rescue

Newbrook Fire Department, located in Newfane Vermont, recently placed this 2003 Ford F550 Rescue in service. The vehicle, which was in the planning stages for nearly 4 years, serves an area of 100 square miles and 5 towns. The Newbrook Fire Department operates independent of tax support, utilizing community donations for purchases and operations. The vehicle, with modular poly body by V-tec, a Vermont fire apparatus company, includes the following features.

  • Modular poly body that is rust proof and easily repairable.
  • Dover roll up compartment doors that allow easy access to equipment.
  • 3000 pound winch that is mountable at either the front or rear of the vehicle
  • Rear mounted 6500kw Honda generator powering 2 removable halogen lights and 2 fixed halogen lights, as well as 2 250' powered reels.
  • Seating for 5 rescuers
  • Slide out trays and dividers to ensure maximum utilization of space and access to equipment
