On March 6, 2003 the Northern Bight Fire Dept., Hillview, Newfoundland, Canada received a 2003 Carl Thibeault Pumper/Tanker. The chassis is a Freightliner FL80 with a manual 6 speed synchronized transmission with an aluminum body, 1500 gallon poly-tank with a 10 inch Newton dump valve at the rear. The pump is a single stage Hale Q-Pak 100 (1000 gpm) with stainless steel plumbing, fold down ladder rack., split seat Bostron driver seat and a double passenger seat, Code 3 warning lights.

The Fire Dept. has 16 volunteer and a dozen Firettes that serves 8 community's around 500 houses spread over a 16 km radius. None of the community's have fire hydrant and 3/4 of the houses are at higher elevation from the water source.
