Firefighters from Howard County responded to a single family house with heavy fire in the rear of on the deck.

The fire extended into the house and caused heavy damage.

A task force, requested by engine 111, was alerted prior to arrival of any apparatus.

Smoke from the fire was seen as far away as I-95 and Rt. 175 [ 5 to 6 miles away].

Firefighters from all over southern Howard Co. responded to the blaze with help from Prince Georges Co.

No injuries were reported.

The fire is under investigation.
