On Thursday, October 10, just after 6:30pm, a three alarm fire broke out in large, single family house on Root Road in Somers, Connecticut.
Firefighters had a difficult time with the fire due to having to shuttle water from
approximately two miles away.
The lack of being able to sustain a water supply for any length of time greatly hampered the efforts and firefighters had to be pulled from the building not too long after they
arrived.
At this time no cause has been determined.
