At approximately 1400 hours on Saturday, October 5, 2002 Little Rock Fire Department was notified of a residential fire at 1810 Iris.
LRFD Dispatched Engines 1, 7, 8, and 10 along with Truck 1 and Rescue 2. Battalion Chief 1 Ronnie Frey was in command
LRFD Engine 10, with Captain Bill Whitt, Engineer Danny Smith and Fireman Clark Hayes was first on the scene and found a one story wood dwelling with fire coming from the windows on sides 1 and 4 and spreading to the roof and attic areas.
Occupants of the dwelling had escaped prior to their arrival.
They laid two 3 inch supply lines to their unit and a single 1 ¾ inch line was advanced.
The fire was initially attacked from the exterior on side 1 and quickly knocked down.
The probable cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature.
Damage to the 1400 sq. ft. structure was estimated at $65,000 with estimated damages to contents at $5,000.
