On October 16 at approximately 8pm Howard Co. MD units were alerted for a MVC with
unknown injuries.
The dispatch first gave the location of I -95 at Route 32. The call was upgraded quickly to rescue after other reports came in advising entrapment. The first arriving units advised the proper location, which wasabout 1.5 miles south of the original dispatched info.
The on scene crews reported a working rescue with a PRI-1 patient trapped. A second rescue unit was
requested and MSP Trooper 8 was sent to the scene. Firefighters had to stabilize the wreckage and control a fuel leak from the vehicle on top. After rescuers stabilized the wreckage and controlled the fuel leakage they were able to extricate the PRI-1 patient and send the patient to Shock Trauma.
Acting Battalion Chief Chandler commanded the scene. Maryland State Police are investigating the incident.
