Johnson County, Texas Firefighters Battle House Fire
Three Firefighters Treated for Heat Exhaustion

Story/Photos by WAYNE TOMBLINSON

Three children ran to a neighbor's house for assistance, because the children's house was on fire.

The fire started in the kitchen on Wednesday, October 16, 2002, and was reported at 6:50 pm.

The Johnson County Sheriff's office dispatched the Keene VFD.

They were unable to get a full crew to roll on the fire.

The Joshua VFD and Briaroaks VFD were dispatched.

Joshua VFD engine, followed by a Briaroaks VFD engine, arrived on scene to a fully involved frame one-story house along with the two vehicles parked beside the house.

The Cleburne Fire Department saw the smoke and called the County to find that the house was the first house inside Cleburne's city limits.

The neighbor's house, where the call was originated, is outside the city limits.

The Cleburne FD responded with one tower truck and two engines.

The house and the two vehicles were totally destroyed.

Three Joshua VFD members were treated for heat exhauston at the scene.
