Bridgeport, CT Fire Department Vacant Structure Fire

Story/Photos by KEITH MURATORI

On October 25, 2002, at 1:31pm, Bridgeport Fire Department's B-Shift battled a fire in a 3 story wood vacant structure on the city's East Side. Companies were just released from a previous box assignment on Crescent Street, where a rubbish fire extended into a 1 story brick structure. When the companies arrived at the second fire on Sheridan Street, they found a heavy fire condition in the rear of the structure.

Four engines, two trucks, 1 rescue, and 1 battalion responded. Firefighter Isaias Rodriguez was treated and released after receiving 2nd degree burns to his ears.
