On February 2, 2002, units from Baltimore City Fire Department responded to the 1600 block of McHenry Street for a reported dwelling fire.
First arriving units found a 2 story row house with heavy smoke showing.
Firefighters quickly entered the building to aggresively attack the fire and search for trapped occupants.
A firefighter from Truck 23 barely escaped serious injury when he was caught in a "sudden flash over" on the second floor. He had to exit head first from a window, being pulled by a fellow firefighter.
This neighborhood has been plagued by a series of arson fires over the last few weeks.
It is not known if this was another of those fires.
