MO Firefighters Battle Vacant Warehouse Fire

Photos/Story by Andy Woody

Fire broke out at a vacant warehouse in Northeast Springfield on February 13, 2002.

Firefighters responded quickly to find a large vacant warehouse with fire showing.

Crews quickly began to fight the fast moving fire with ladder pipes and handlines.

It took about forty firefighters from 4 engines, three trucks, and a rescue about an hour and a half to bring the fire under control.

The fire was determined to be accidental and was caused by a cutting torch.

No injuries were reported.
