A "structure fire with children inside" was toned out at 9:30 am on February 7, 2002.

The first units were on scene within minutes and reported the whole rear of the 1 1/2 story cape cod with dormer fully involved. Fire attack and search was started immediately by Robbins Fire Dept and Garden Homes Fire District.

The fire was contained within 20 minutes and completely extinguished within the hour. A 2-11 was pulled because of the lack of water and cold temperatures. Most of the ventilation was completed by Alsip fire personnel.

Alsip Fire Investigator reported the children were safe at school at the time of the fire. The cause of this fire is still under investigation.
