At 11:30 am, 3-18-02, the Jonesboro FD, got a call for a mutual aid rescue response, to a community about ten miles south of the city limits.
The Jonesboro Fire Department sent its rescue truck and on arrival of the scene, found a tractor trailer truck over-turned in a ditch off the highway.
Paramedics advised the driver was DOA, and was trapped in the cab of the truck by the steering wheel and a seat.
The firefighters worked over a hour to release the victim from the cab.
Knee deep mud and water covered with engine oil made the recovery tough, but the firefighters overcome the conditions and successfully released the victim.
The driver had no passengers with him, and no one else was involved in the wreck.
