BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE, La. - A fire started at the 8th Air Force Headquarters building on Barksdale Air Force Base on March 12, 2002.

Base emergency services, aided by Bossier City firefighters, responded to the fire.

Crews brought the fire under control within 2 hours with no injuries to civilians or firefighters.

The amount of the damage has not been determined at this time.

Base officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
