VA Bravest Battle House Fire

Photos/Story By John Smith

On Wednesday, March 6, 2002 firefighters from Spotsylvania, Courthouse, and Chancellorsville responded to this house fire at 10910 Heatherwood Drive, Spotsylvania VA.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy fire through the roof, and immediately began to attack the fire.

Crews battled the blaze for nearly an hour before bringing the fire under control.

Ashes emptied from a wood stove placed in a plastic bucket and put on the deck apparently caused this fire which was a total loss.

This was the second house fire in a week and a half destroyed by fire of a similar origin.
