All three victims in the cab sustained multiple systems trauma, and one patient was airlifted to a local trauma center.

Basil Chief James Hite (Chief 610) was the incident commander. Basil responded Medics 610/611, Rescue 610, and Engine 610. Violet Township Fire Department responded as mutual aid with Violet Chief 590 (K. Taylor), Medic 592, Res592cuE, and the Violet Photo Unit.

The Basil Joint Fire District, located in Baltimore, OH provides coverage for the village and surrounding Liberty Twp. Basil is a paid/on-call department staffing two engine houses. In the year 2001, Basil companies responded to over 1,100 EMS, fire, rescue, and other incidents, according to Chief Hite.
