NY Firefighters Battle Pallet Pile Fire

On April 17th, 2002 at Approx. 1310 Hours the Milton Fire District in the Town of Marlborough, Ulster County was Alerted for a Controlled Burn of Pallets that had gotten Out of Control and Spread to a Larger Pile of New Pallets endangering a Warehouse at Location and several other Buildings.

Command arrived on Scene and reported a Very Large Area of Pallets burning with serious Exposure Problems and requested an Immediate response of Tankers from Plattekill, Clintondale, Highland and Esopus to the Scene.

Immediately Lines were placed to Cover the 2 Larger Exposure, An Auto Body Sales Shop and a large Exterior Propane Tank at Agway across the Street.

The Town of Marlborough Volunteer Ambulance and Alamo ALS established a Rehab Area at Agway as the Outside Temperature at the time of the Fire was Over 90 Degrees.

Also assisting Milton at the Scene were Units from Marlborough, New Paltz, Gardiner, Rosendale and Port Ewen.

Numerous othe Departments from Both Ulster & Orange Counties were on Standby at Various Locations.

No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
