WV Firefighters Battle Firefighters Truck Fire

Photos/Story by John M. Huber

On April 20 at approximately 0900 Hours Company 15 (Clinton District) was alerted for a vehicle fire on Smithtown Road.

Firefighter John Huber 20-33 (Star City Fire Department) arrived on the scene as the call was being dispatched.

The owner of the vehicle was a Masontown firefighter.

If you look closely you can see the MVFD tag on the front of his vehicle as well as a lightbar on top of the truck.

The owner reported a smell of burning plastic prior to pulling off to the side of the road.

When he opened the hood he found a working fire in his engine compartment.

Crews quickly knocked the fire down using a handline. No injuries were reported.
