Around 11:00 a.m., on April 21, 2002, the North Boone District 3 was called out to a
report of a barn fire with heavy smoke. There were also reports of livestock still inside.
The first arriving engine reported a barn fully engulfed. Firefighters rescued one pig from the
burning barn.
Mutual aid was requested from Capron Fire Department. Also EMA responded with their air truck.
This fire lasted several hours. The structure recived heavy damage and eventually collapsed.
No injuries were reported.
