NY Bravest Perform Extrication

Photos/Story By David F. Sherman/Courtesy of The Amherst Bee

AMHERST, NY -- East Amherst and Main-Transit firefighters worked for 30 minutes to free the driver of a car that skidded off the road and slammed into a watery ditch after colliding with another vehicle on Youngs Road on April 26, 2002.

After extrication, the woman in the car was treated at the Erie County Medical Center for a broken arm and head injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle sustained only minor injuries and freed himself from his overturned car.

Amherst Police charged him with failure to keep right.
