Riverside County, California Firefighters Supress Building Fire

Story and Photos by
ANTHONY COLETTA
Riverside County Fire Department

Riverside County Fire Department/CDF responded to a mid-day fire at a vacant medical arts building. With smoke showing from the station approx. 1 mile away, first due companies found an approx. 6,000 sq ft single story wood frame building well involved with fire issuing through the roof. Immediate exposures included a two story occupied medical arts building.

Suppression actions took a defensive mode early into the incident due to the advanced stage of fire involvement to the building and partial roof collapse early into the incident. Other control problems included temperatures in excess of 100 degrees.
