New York Firefighters Take Part in Training Exercise

Story and Photos by
CAPT. ALBERT M. CRAVEN

Members of the Calcium Fire Department took part in a training excerise at the Niagra Mohawk Fire School in Oswego, NY on June 1 - 2, 2002.

The class consisted of very in depth hands-on and classroom instruction.

Firefighters were taught about electric and natural gas utilities. Topics covered included power distribution, line voltages, vault fires, transformer fires, natural gas line fires. The firefighters learned how to react to each type of fire and also the different extinguishment methods for each type of fire.

Thanks go out to the instructors for a great time!
