Pennsylvania Bravest Battle Log House Fire

On July 11 2002 at approximately 1245 hrs Cumberland EOC dispatched companies 51 (Newburg-Hopewell Vol. Fire), 52 (Vigilant Hose Co), 54 (West-End Fire Rescue), 49 (Walnut-Bottom Vol. Fire Co.), Truck 53 (Cumberland Valley Truck Co.) 53 Ambulance C.V. EMS to Stony Lane unknown address.

Franklin County Chief 11 Arrived on scene to report Heavy involved 2 1/2 story house. Engine 251 arrives on scene in 3 minutes to find log house fully involved, giving the correct address.

Chief 51 assumed command, advised responding crews the fire would be a defensive operations and request one additional engine and two tankers sending Franklin county engine 11-1 (Pleasant Hall), tankers from Franklin county tanker 12 (Fannet Metal) and Cumberland engine-tanker 248. Crews knocked fire and stayed on scene for 3 hours for overhaul.
